Alan has a wealth of experience in the human resources and development field having worked for a number of organisations in both the public and private sector. Apart from the HR Function Alan took also Administration, Operations and Quality management roles. Throughout his working experience he worked in different sectors ranging from the Hospitality & Tourism, Culture, Manufacturing and Security Industries. He has headed a number of HR departments and worked with in areas such as employee relations, resourcing & recruitment, remuneration, training and development and organisational development. Through his role he was also exposed to deliver training in the field of leadership, team building, communication and customer care.
Alan is also an International Football Referee and apart from officiating at the highest level of local football he also represents Malta at international level. Locally he has officiated at top level for the past 15 years and internationally for the past 9 years giving him the opportunity to referee numerous international UEFA & FIFA matches in 40 countries across Europe. As a referee he has attended a number of local and international refereeing forums & seminars which dealt with topics such as leadership, man management, communication, conflict management and dealing with pressure which all help him in his management profession within the HR field. Through his refereeing career which has started over 21 years ago at the young age of 16 years old has given Alan a strong sense of discipline and personality which he brings along in his personal and working career.
Academically Alan is a management graduate from the University of Malta focusing his dissertation on training and development. Throughout the past years his CPD included a number of local and international training courses / seminars within the HR and Management field with a keen interest in employment legislation and innovative HR policies.
