The IoD's institution.
Think Talent's delivery.

The Institute of Directors has trained company directors for over a century. Its qualifications carry the only Royal Charter behind a director credential. From September 2026, you can earn them in Malta.

Think Talent is the IoD's authorised course provider in Malta. The course material is the IoD's. The faculty are practicing directors who teach the same content in London, Singapore and Mumbai. The administration, venue, and support: all Think Talent, on the ground.

Complete all four → Certificate in Company Direction

Stage 1 of the IoD's three stage pathway. Credit rated at SCQF Level 9, 18 credit points. The Diploma (Stage 2) and Chartered Director assessment (Stage 3) follow.

From your first module
to Chartered Director.

The only director designation in the world with a Royal Charter behind it. Here is how you earn it.

1

Stage 1Certificate

Complete 4 modules. SCQF Level 9, 18 credit points. Starts September 2026 in Malta.

2

Stage 2Diploma

Strategic application and assessment. SCQF Level 11, Masters level credit.

3

Stage 3Chartered Director

Professional Review and experience assessment. The letters CDir after your name.

Director level capability.
Not theory.

The IoD's professional development is designed by directors for directors. You leave with skills you use the next time you walk into the boardroom.

Read a board pack like a CFO

Interpret financial statements, spot red flags, and challenge management reports with the right questions.

Chair with confidence

Handle conflict, dissent, and tricky boardroom dynamics with calm authority.

Lead strategic conversations

Set direction. Weigh alternatives. Align the board around a defensible plan, not the loudest voice in the room.

Know your legal duties cold

Director liability under Maltese and EU regulation. How to handle it without turning into a compliance officer.

Join a peer board of Maltese directors

Finish the programme with a network of fellow Maltese directors. A sounding board long after the course ends.

Carry credentials that travel

The IoD's qualifications are recognised internationally. The Certificate now, the Chartered Director designation later.
